Smooth As Tennessee Whiskey: Thunder Road Distillery #ad #Sevierville

March 21, 2016 by Dawn McAlexander

Smooth As Tennessee Whiskey | Thunder Road Distillery #ad #Sevierville

It would seem that George Jones isn’t the only one who likes Tennessee Whiskey. On a recent press trip, I got to try it for the first time when we did a tasting at Thunder Road Distillery in Sevierville, Tennessee. In case you were not aware, this is where Dolly Parton grew up. So, we have George Jones’ drink of choice in a town rich with Dolly Parton history on a tour led by Charlie Daniels’ twin. Being the classic country fan that I am, I am all about this!

Pumpkin Patch Moonshine sounds good to me. 🙂 #moonshine #travel #travelgram #instafood #instatravel #Sevierville #Tennessee #thenewclassy #food #foodie #pumpkin #alcohol [sponsored]

Moonshine & Tennessee Whiskey Tasting At Thunder Road Distillery In Sevierville, Tennessee

Our group got to tour the distillery and learn about their history thanks to our fabulous tour guide. Tell me he doesn’t look like Charlie Daniels. I dare you. And I was amazed that you could get Moonshine in so many flavors. I even shared the Pumpkin Patch variety on Instagram. I didn’t try that one, but I definitely will next time I visit.

At Thunder Road Distillery, our whiskey is a reflection of the whiskey runner’s spirit. From Dumplin Creek flavored moonshine, to our own Thunder Road corn whiskey, rum, and rye, we make the best whiskey in these hills. Drop in for a free tasting.

One reason I have never tried Tennessee Whiskey and Moonshine is because, well, I thought it would taste like butt and I am more of a fruity concoction type of girl. Well, it’s not true! Moonshine is actually quite good. I had no idea you could sample it before you bought it. And I definitely am not about dropping over $20 on something I might not like. Right?

So, I tried the Banana Shine flavored Moonshine as well as the Watermelon. The Watermelon was good but the Banana Shine was AWESOME! So, I bought myself some of that to take home. I really wanted to try the Banana Rum, but didn’t want to drink too much at once, but several people I was with did and said it was really good. People who are more in the know about alcohol than I said that the drinks offered at Thunder Road Distillery are very smooth. I think if a novice such as myself enjoyed their beverages sans chasers, than that is probably true. I will definitely be back. 🙂

Those flavors you tried sound great. I’d have to go for the banana shine first! I would have thought moonshine would be way too strong!
