On June 20th, Kenny and I saw Elle King at Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges in Roanoke, Va. We hadn’t been to this venue before, nor had we seen King in concert, so we were in for a fun, new night! I think everyone in the world loves “Ex’s & Oh’s” as well as “Drunk [and I Don’t Want To Go Home],” but I was really hoping she would perform “Worth a Shot,” [her duet with Dierks Bentley] and “Jersey Giant.” Did she sing all of these songs, as well as your faves? Check out our Elle King setlist below and find out.

- Little Bit Of Lovin’
Some of the high points that stood out from the concert for me: During “Little Bit Of Lovin’,” Elle King gave a setlist to a firefighter and took a moment to thank all the service people in the crowd, as well as thanking that particular firefighter personally. I thought that was pretty nice of her to show these people respect like that. King talked about how much she loved Roanoke after walking around the town before the concert. She even said that she bought her jeans that she was wearing for that night’s performance in Roanoke earlier that day! King’s child was also on stage for much of the performance. That was pretty funny as we often think of stars as having nannies, leaving their kids at home while they are touring, etc. But King was looking after her child while also putting on a show. She joked that it wasn’t her “Baby Daddy’s Weekend.” She just struck me as kind of like the rest of us, just doing the best we can. ๐
There’s really no bad seat in the house at Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges. For this performance there were lawn seats which are general admission, so you would want to get there early for the best seats. They also have a PIT area. No lawn seats are allowed in this area directly in front of the stage. So, I would recommend PIT to the youngins, not those that need to sit, like myself. There is also a VIP area which is a rooftop sky deck adjacent to the stage, with deck chairs, it’s own bar and private bathroom.
Eats
Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges had several food trucks on hand and we indulged in several items. I had a pulled chicken sandwich and Kenny and I shared a macaroni and cheese, both from Rocky Mount BBQ Smokehouse. Each of these items were tasty but the macaroni was ah-maaaaaz-ing. We also tried the kettle corn from Heathens Mobile Grill – Dill Pickle for me and I think Kenny got Caramel. Those were both really delicious, as well. If memory serves me correctly, the chicken sandwich and the macaroni and cheese were a total of $14 and the 2 bags of kettle corn were $15 together. Naturally, I got a Dr Pepper. I mean, it’s Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges. It seemed sacrilegious not to. I find that lots of places don’t carry Diet Dr Pepper, but they do here. ๐ Yum!
Parking/Accessibility
It’s a short walk from the parking area to where you get in line to enter the venue – about a quarter of a mile, estimate. Then there is a short walk into the venue from the ticketing area. Will Call was at a table on the left as you enter the path to the venue. Some of the passageway in you need to traverse is graveled so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues. This venue is definitely a lot easier to navigate than some of the outside arenas that we go to like PNC Music Park in Charlotte, NC. That venue can be a nightmare for anyone with mobility issues, given the long distances to walk and gravel to navigate, even sometimes if you have a handicap placard. I am not sure if there was an elevator to get to the VIP section at Dr Pepper Park at the Bridges. I will try to remember to look next time I attend a concert there.
