Recently, Kenny and I got to catch Kane Brown’s “In The Air” concert tour stop at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC. With him were heavy hitters Tyler Hubbard and Parmalee, so it was bound to be a rocking good time. Today, we have put together our Kane Brown concert review with full setlists, reviews and pictures for all of the acts on the bill. Let us know if you agree or disagree with our assessment. Just the week before, we saw Chris Young perform “Famous Friends,” [originally performed by Chris Young and Kane Brown] at his concert in Danville, Va. I have to say, Kane Brown took the win on this one, though, as Tyler Hubbard and Parmalee joined him on the stage for their rendition. All of the artists were highlighted on different screens and performing in opposing areas over the stage. It was a sensory overload in the best way and I had no idea where to look!
Brown’s show was fabulous, full of pyrotechnics, lights, him performing from huge heights and confetti – all the confetti. He even stopped to sign someone’s prosthetic leg during his acoustic performance in the middle of the arena [pics are in my Flickr album linked at the bottom of this post]. If you are looking for a chill, traditional country act, this is not it. If you are looking for all the senses to be engaged, with phenomenal singing from an energetic performer, Brown has you covered.
The only thing I am still not sure how I feel about in his set was the giant Kane Brown image all over the jumbo screen during “Like I Love Country Music.” He was just staring at the screen, in a cowboy hat and black tank top. I’m assuming it was supposed to be sexy but, honestly, I felt like I needed to offer him some cookies and directions. I am way older than him, though, so perhaps that’s why I didn’t “get” it. Maybe some of you youngins can chime in and let me know what you thought.
His wife was preggy and popped just a few days after this concert! Congrats to the family!

I saw Tyler Hubbard [as part of Florida Georgia Line] at Carolina Country Music Fest in, I believe, 2018 and very much enjoyed their show. I hadn’t been a huge fan of theirs previously, but once I saw them live, that changed. I think there are just some bands that have that energy that is best understood and appreciated when you catch them performing in person: Florida Georgia Line was definitely that to me.
Now to address the elephant in the room – is Tyler Hubbard any good by himself? The answer to that is an emphatic “yes.” Tyler Hubbard is a huge talent in his own right, as a writer, a musician and as a performer and he doesn’t “need” someone else to help him shine. He’s a bright star all on his own. When the jumbotron displayed him dancing in the field during “Dancin’ In The Country,” it made me smile. He just seems like a really genuine, fun guy that anyone could get along with. I see a future continuation of his already tremendous career. And, on a personal note, Hubbard, as a solo artist, seems to take the music direction more towards the songs that I found most moving by Florida Georgia Line to begin with, for example, “Simple.”

Oh how I love Parmalee. Sure, coming from my state helps, but the talent the group possesses seals the deal. I have seen them perform 4 or 5 times now, I believe, and it’s always an amazing experience. I do wish they could have done more than 6 songs, well 7, when they join Kane Brown later in the show. I am hoping to catch them again soon as the headliner at one of the smaller venues. I LOVE how they covered “Yeah!” by Usher, Lil John & Ludacris. Bonus: Barry Knox does Ludacris’ part!
