The Story Behind Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay #VolcanoBay

March 9, 2017 by Dawn McAlexander

The Story Behind Universal's Volcano Bay #VolcanoBay

With just a few months until Volcano Bay has it’s grand opening, Universal Orlando Resort has revealed the story behind its new immersive water theme park. If you are interested in what goes into the making of a theme park and learning the story behind the creation of such a project, now you can check out Universal’s Volcano Bay’s story right here before it even opens. And be sure to attend the grand opening of Volcano Bay, which will be May 25, 2017.

The Story Behind Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay is a tropical paradise formed by myth and discovered by legend. It was discovered by the Waturi islanders with the help of a mystical fish who was destined to guide them to a new home. Visit the Universal Orlando Blog for more information on this remarkable story.

Volcano Bay could only be brought to life by Universal Creative – the same team responsible for bringing the ground-breaking experiences within Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure to life. The team traveled around the South Pacific to find inspiration that would redefine the water park experience and shape their vision for Volcano Bay. The water theme park is just another example of their commitment to spectacular storytelling and creating amazing, immersive guest experiences.

When it grand opens on May 25, Universal’s Volcano Bay will become Universal Orlando’s third amazing theme park and feature a variety of experiences ranging from daring to serene – including a multi-directional wave pool with sandy beaches, a peaceful winding river, twisting multi-rider raft rides, speeding body slides that drop from the top of the volcano into the waters below and more.
