Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review + Premiere Pics #PiratesLifeEvent

May 22, 2017 by Dawn McAlexander

New Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Featurette #PiratesLife #PiratesOfTheCaribbean

I have been a fan of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise since the beginning. I believe that I have seen every single one of the films in the theater, too. You guys know how much I love to travel to the Caribbean and there is just something so magical and fun about the life of a pirate {the fictionalized Disney version, of course}. The setting. The lifestyle. The rum. The whole thing just draws me in. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And, Johnny Depp. Is he not the perfect pirate? I was fortunate enough to get to travel to LA to see the Hollywood premiere of the latest installment in the franchise, which hits theaters everywhere on May 26th, courtesy of Disney. Now I am sharing pictures from the premiere and my opinions with you. Read my review, watch the movie for yourself and let me know if you agree with my Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review in the comments section below.

Since the movie is not out yet, I am going to share with you more about how the movie made me feel than about actual things that took place, scenes, actors involved, etc. So, I am going to try my absolute best to include NO SPOILERS!! But I will include things that you can get from the trailer. Know in advance, though, that there are surprise guests, and many things are unveiled that change the franchise as we know it. You may also be moved to tears in at least one place. And definitely stay in your seat through the credits or important things will be unseen and you will miss out.

So, firstly, I LOVE the addition of Javier Bardem. Admittedly, I am a bit partial to him anyway {okay, I am very, very partial to him}, but I think he brought a lot to the movie. He is really creepy, probably the scariest adversary that Jack Sparrow has ever faced. There are a ton of special effects in this movie – many of them intrical to Javier Bardem’s scary appearance. Now, I am a total enjoyer of special effects – as long as they are good. I love all of the Marvel super hero movies and I really just don’t think they would be as good without the special effects. The same applies to this movie. A lot of it was shot in the studio, so the actors really had to be on their game and use their imagination and skill to sell it. And they so did.

And Kaya Scodelario’s character is perfect. Carina Smyth is no damsel in distress. Though she hasn’t had the easiest life, she is scrappy, smart and very self assured in a male dominated world. Her empowered character shines and Scodelario, as an actress, is perfect. Admittedly, I was not very familiar with her work before seeing this movie, but I am definitely a fan now and look forward to seeing more projects with her in leading roles in the future.

For me, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is the best movie in the franchise. Hands down. I know this because I rewatched all of the other Pirates movies before going to LA to see this one. So they are all fresh on my brain. Both Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush are fabulous, as always, and I just know that you people are going to love this movie like I did!

This movie looks so good. I couldn’t believe they were keeping on with the franchise, but it’s going to be good! So glad it’s a lot of the same actors!

I love how you talked more about the elements of the movie (like the actors) rather than just the full blown pirate aspect. While I love the ride Pirates of the Caribbean and all things Disney, I could never get into the movies, though I did try!
