Super Bowl XLVIII Preview And Predictions #SB48

Super Bowl XLVIII Preview ~

Super Bowl XLVIII will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. We now know who the two participating teams will be in this year’s championship game of American football. In this post I will review each team and how they got to this game and give you my prediction as to who I think will win.

Super Bowl XLVIII Preview – NFC Champions Seattle Seahawks vs. AFC Champions Denver Broncos

For the first time in a few years, both of the top seeded teams in their respective conferences have advanced to the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks had the best record in the NFC and they have the NFL’s top rated defense. They also boast a young and talented offense led by second year quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson has shown incredible leadership skills and the poise of a six year veteran under center. The Seahawks also have one of the league’s best rushing attacks with running back Marshawn Lynch. When Lynch gets into what he calls “beast mode”, he is almost unstoppable. The Seahawks got to the Super Bowl by defeating the New Orleans Saints 23-15 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, then by defeating the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in the NFC Championship Game.

Super Bowl XLVIII: Seattle Seahawks Vs. Denver Broncos

The Seattle Seahawks will face the Denver Broncos from the AFC in the Super Bowl. The Denver Broncos have the league’s best offense, led by quarterback Peyton Manning. The Broncos have several offensive weapons at their disposal, including running back Knowshon Moreno and wide receivers Wes Welker and Demaryius Thomas, two of the best in the NFL. Defensively, the Broncos have the league’s top scoring defense, meaning they have scored more points on defense than any other defense in the league. The Broncos got here by defeating the San Diego Chargers 24-17 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, then by defeating the New England Patriots 26-16 in the AFC Championship Game.

So, Who Will Win The Super Bowl?

This matchup, with all these top rated players, looks to be interesting on paper. We will see if it turns out to be that good. In my estimation, the Seahawks must put pressure on Peyton Manning in order to win. They cannot let him stand there and pick them apart. Even though the Seahawks have hands down the best defensive secondary in the league, if they give Manning enough time, he will pick them apart. For the Broncos, they have to keep Marshawn Lynch in check. I don’t think the Seahawks have enough weapons at wide receiver to beat the Broncos by throwing the football. I look for the Broncos to come out and try to score quickly and often. This would force the Seahawks to have to throw the football more. I am not saying that the Seahawks can’t throw the football, but I am saying that they are just not as talented in the passing game as they are in the running game.

Given all this, I think the Broncos win this Super Bowl. Unfortunately, I don’t think this game will be all that close (sorry Seahawks fans). Of course, I could be wrong. That’s just my opinion.

And there you have it, my final predictions for the Super Bowl. I hope you have enjoyed my look at this year’s NFL Playoffs, and that you enjoy the Super Bowl, too.
