Summer Breeze: My Favorite Summer Song #RockYourBlog

June 12, 2013 by Jay Crawford

Summer Breeze ~

beach summer breeze

What is my favorite summer song you ask? Well, I am sure that that changes from year to year, maybe even from day to day, but there are a few songs that are consistently up there on my favorites list.

Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft

I guess if I were to pick my favorite summer song of all time it would probably be “Summer Breeze” by Seals and Crofts. I can remember hearing this song on the radio when I was a kid. Usually it was when we were visiting my aunt and cousins near Lake Norman. It always made me stop and think about the wonderful things in nature, especially during the summer months. The sun, the sky, the breeze in the trees all were so wonderful, beautiful and peaceful. It made me happy to be alive.

Summer breeze makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind…

Such poetic lyrics!

A Little Different Summer Song

Most people like those upbeat, party-type anthems that make you want to get up and dance. I do like those songs, but my favorite summer songs are the low-key, laid-back, relaxing songs like this one. I can remember those special summer days playing outside with my friends and enjoying the summer sun. Wow! This song brings those memories back and makes me smile. I feel so lucky to have had the childhood that I did. I wish other people could have enjoyed their childhood as much as I did mine.

It took me some thought to come up with my favorite summer song, but Summer Breeze definitely puts summer into perspective for me. I could mention some other songs that were good songs for summer, but this one is consistently my favorite. When you hear this song, I hope you have the same reaction that I did. It is a very peaceful feeling when you realize just what a wonderful world it is that we live in!

I love the picture, it fits the song perfectly! I do love the upbeat summer songs. My favorite is Walking on Sunshine but for some reason the Thong song pops into my head…lol. I don’t know why I haven’t heard it in years but it does remind me of summer.

Love that one, but I’m a big fan this year of Sail Away, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, Fishin’ in the Dark and Just give me a Reason….

My favorite summer song is one that most people have never heard of. It’s “La Valse d’Amélie [Orchestral version]”, by Yann Tiersen. It reminds me of the fireflies dancing in the twilight hours, and me dancing with them as a child. I listen to this song, and I can smell the sweet scent of lilac and honeysuckle, see the fireflies waltzing through the air, see my grandmother sitting on the porch, telling me stories of the wee folk, and how they dance with us at twilight…it’s my entire childhood wrapped up in violins, piano, and accordions.

Great classic song, nice choice. I wouldn’t call it my favorite but ‘Summer of 69’ Bran Adams comes to mind and has to be on list. 🙂

Definitely! That is a great song and Bryan Adams’ music was some of the best ever, in my opinion.

Wow! I don’t know if I have a Summer song. I have songs that bring up lots of memories. If I had to pick one that makes me think Summer from my teens perhaps Let’s Get Rocked by Def Leppard

I never really thought about a favorite summer song but the ones that come to mind are Walking on Sunshine, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay and Sail Away (from Pure Moods).

Funny, the first song that came into my head when I thought of summer was “Summer girls” from LFO. What the heck? Now I have it stuck in my head.
