When I worked in radio, Exile was a staple of my playlist. I just knew that I could play them and, not only do I love their music, but I knew my audience would, too. They just have that sound, you know? Everyone knows “Kiss You All Over” and I absolutely love that song, but other personal favorites of mine are “Nobody’s Talking” and “I Can’t Get Close Enough.” Can you believe I haven’t seen them in concert though? Yesterday, I got to chat on the phone with Phil Vassar. Yes, ladies, I got to talk to Phil Vassar on Valentine’s Day. ;) Seriously, though, he is one heck of a great songwriter and a talented singer in his own right. He’s written something for what seems like everybody in Nashville, so you have probably heard tons of his creativity even while you might not have been aware. Hey, race fans, if you are unfamiliar with the historic Virginia International Raceway, located just outside of Danville, Virginia, then you should brush up on your racing history. This track has hosted legendary racers like Carroll Shelby (creator of the legendary Shelby Cobra cars), Richard Petty and even Paul Newman! It is one of the premier road racing courses in the world, and I have included a little about the history of the Virginia International Raceway below.
