Tully Movie Review: Why This Movie Perfectly Addresses Postpartum Mental Health Issues [Contains Necessary Spoilers]

Tully Movie Review: Why This Movie Perfectly Addresses Postpartum Mental Health Issues [Contains Necessary Spoilers]

I love doing movie reviews and hate including spoilers. However, this one will contain spoilers – but only necessary ones. With Tully, I want to talk less about the acting, directing and writing, and more about the bigger conversation that has started online because of this movie, which hits theaters this Friday. Tully stars Charlize Theron, Ron Livingston and Mackenzie Davis and is written by Diablo Cody. From this point on EXPECT SPOILERS in our Tully movie review and please do not read further if you don’t want me to “ruin” the movie for you – though I assure you that I will do my best not to. I will definitely not be revealing anything than has not already been shared by others. [Read more…]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Review From A Star Wars Newbie #TheLastJedi

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Review From A Star Wars Newbie

Ok, so I need to start out this review by saying that I have only ever seen the first 3 Star Wars movies made, the ones from like the 70s and 80s. I also saw them around that time, so I am definitely not a Star Wars expert. If you are a Star Wars expert and are looking for a review from a fellow expert, this is probably not the review for you. However, if you are a relative newbie to the franchise, like me, then check out my Star Wars: The Last Jedi review and let me know what you think in the comments below.

Spoiler Free Daddy's Home 2 Movie Review #DaddysHome2

A few weeks ago, my friend Johnetta and I got to see an advance screening of Daddy’s Home 2, starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. I really loved the original movie so I was super stoked to get to see the sequel before it hit theaters. I also got to see it at SMG in Charlotte, a movie theater that I had not visited in the past, so that was pretty awesome, too.

Nine Lives Movie Review {Starring Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner & Christopher Walken} #NineLives

Nine Lives Movie Review {Starring Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner & Christopher Walken} #NineLives

Let me just say before I go into this review that I have stepped out of my comfort zone to review this film. I have never been a big fan of kid’s films. Even when I was a kid I stuck to more of the action and comedy films than anything. I could probably count on one hand the number of kid’s films that I have seen in my lifetime. So, seeing the new film Nine Lives was a little bit different for me. I am not saying that kid’s films are bad, but they are just not my thing. However, I have to admit that the few that I have watched were good. So, there are two schools of thought here: either my inexperience with kid’s movies makes me unqualified to give a good review, or my inexperience with kid’s movies makes me more objective, which means this review will be better than most. I guess that will be up to you to decide.

Jason Bourne Movie Review {Starring Matt Damon} #JasonBourne

I have always been an action movie fan. From my younger days of watching films like Star Wars and the Indiana Jones trilogy right up until today’s high-flying action flicks like The Avengers, I have loved action films. I have been especially fond over the years of James Bond films. There was always plenty of action in a Bond film, you could count on it. Today, the Jason Bourne films have become the new trademark for high-impact action films, and have supplanted the James Bond films as the benchmark for action. I do love the Jason Bourne films as well. So, I went out this past week and checked out the latest Jason Bourne film in the theaters, aptly titled Jason Bourne.

The Shallows {Starring Blake Lively} Movie Review #TheShallows

Imagine.. white sand beaches, emerald green and turquoise waters. It’s definitely one of my favorite places to be. I travel often, and when I do, somewhere on a beach is my preferred destination. One of my biggest fears, though, is sharks. I never get in ocean water because of it. That doesn’t make my visit any less enjoyable, though, as I love the relaxation that comes with listening to the waves touch the shore and the sea gulls calling to each other. After watching The Shallows, starring Blake Lively, I am thinking that on the shore is where I will continue to stay. Smart move.

Jurassic World Review #JurassicWorld

Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Jurassic World takes on the challenge of following the ever-so-popular Jurassic Park movies. I have to say, when going to see the movie my expectations weren’t very high. Usually, in my opinion, follow up movies such as this are mediocre to say the least. But, I’ll have you know that Jurassic World exceeded all of my expectations and turned out to be an amazing movie!

Hangover 3 Movie Review

Hangover 3 finds our Wolfpack buddies, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, once again in a world of trouble and no memory. Cool additions to this installment include John Goodman as the villain, Marshall, and Melissa McCarthy who portrays a disturbing love interest for Zach Galifianikis’ character. The Wolfpack must find Chow {Ken Jeong} so that Marshall can settle a score with him or he will kill one of their friends.
