Johnetta and I are currently at Myrtle Beach for the weekend. Girl’s weekend, people! It’s our first girl’s weekend together and what makes a weekend full of girl themed debauchery complete? A movie full of hot guys. Yaaaassss! So, my main squeeze, Mark Ruffalo, and Johnetta’s main squeeze, Thor, are both in Thor: Ragnarok, which hit theaters this weekend. So, naturally, we just had to go see it. And, it’s also the best reviewed Marvel movie of all time and I gotta tell you, my review will be quite favorable, too. And no spoilers! I am so not about ruining movies for people.
Spoiler Free Thor Ragnarok Review
Thor: Ragnarok really reminded me a lot of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. I love all of the neon type colors used in these movies that give them that 80s vibe. Thor: Ragnarok has that same thing going that made it very visually appealing to me. Also, Thor: Ragnarok has a killer soundtrack. There’s just something about a fight scene set to Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” that makes it just that much more exciting. Ahhhhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhh ahhhhhhh ahhhhhh! I think that my dad would have really dug that. I know that I did. I want my fight scenes with money put into the special effects. Don’t be cheap. And Thor: Ragnarok did not disappoint.
Oh my. How cool did Thor look in this movie? As I stated in a previous post, I wasn’t sure whether I could get on board with the short hair or not. I was so wrong. Yes, I am a woman admitting that I am wrong. I throw myself on the mercy of you fine readers. I love the crazy haircut Thor has that so goes with the vibe of the movie as a whole. It’s messed up, just like the world and situations that Thor encounters in this entire movie.
I don’t know what everyone else looks for in a movie but, for me, I want a huge experience in a movie theater. I don’t want to throw down my hard earned cash and not get fully entertained. Thor: Ragnarok checks off my list. It’s full of hot guys: holla Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba and Tom Hiddleston and super badass women: holla Cate Blanchett and Tessa Thompson. I also REALLY loved the rock guy and hope to see more of him in future Marvel movies {another thing that reminds me of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise}. The fight scenes are awesome. Thor looks sooooo freaking cool when he embraces his “God of Thunder” persona and the soundtrack features one of Led Zeppelin’s best songs. So, throw down your cash and go see this movie, in the theater. Don’t wait for it to come out on Bluray. You really need the theater experience.
Oh, and as always, stay for the credits. You know Marvel likes to throw some stuff in there and this movie is no different.
