Tennessee To Honor Darryl Worley With Joint Resolution

My cousin and I used to listen to the song, “I Miss My Friend” by Darryl Worley on repeat. Over and over. It was one of our favorite songs for the longest time and I still haven’t tired of it. And I don’t think I have ever met a person familiar with, “Have You Forgotten?” that didn’t love the song. Besides writing and performing beautiful music, Darryl Worley is also widely known for his charitable contributions. That is why I am glad to share with you today that the state of Tennessee will soon honor Darryl Worley specifically for his charitable work.

Country music star Darryl Worley will be honored by the State of Tennessee next week. On Thursday, April 20 at 9:00 a.m. CT the House of Representatives of the One Hundred Tenth General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, and the Senate, will present Worley with a joint resolution, honoring him for his years of charitable contributions. State Representative David Byrd will recognize Worley on the House Floor of the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville. “I take a lot of pride in being from the great state of Tennessee,” says Worley. “I hope to always be remembered as a real Volunteer. I am truly overjoyed and humbled by this gesture. It is such a huge honor to be recognized and thank you all from the bottom of my heart.” The resolution praises Worley for his “meritorious service to the citizens of the State of Tennessee.”

It goes on to list his vast amount of charitable works: The Darryl Worley Foundation, The Leader In Me program, the Tennessee River Run, and his patriotism and support to those serving in the United States Armed Forces. “Darryl Worley’s every endeavor is imbued with empathy and intended to help those in need, and it is fitting that he be honored,” states the resolution. Following the recognition, Worley will perform his #1 hit, “Have You Forgotten,” on the House Floor. About Darryl WorleyThere are many things Platinum-selling Darryl Worley has come to know in his 16-year country music career.

One of those things is how to recognize a hit song— Worley has scored nearly 20 hit singles and three chart-topping hits with the self-penned “Awful, Beautiful Life,” the patriotic “Have You Forgotten,” and “I Miss My Friend.”  He also recognizes the importance of giving back every opportunity that he can through his foundation, annual charity events and supporting the US military. For more information on Darryl Worley, visit darrylworley.com
