Calling all Kevin Costner fans! It’s just a little over a week until we can see Kevin Costner in McFarland, USA. Opening 2/20/15, this story of unlikely heroes stars Costner as a coach who works to turn a group of Latino kids from a disadvantaged school into into an amazing cross-country team.

Based on the 1987 true story, “McFarland, USA” follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school, with whom they ultimately bond to build not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well.

Soon something beyond their physical gifts becomes apparent-the power of family relationships, their unwavering commitment to one another and their incredible work ethic. With grit and determination, the unlikely band of runners eventually overcomes the odds to forge not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well. Along the way, Coach White realizes that his family finally found a place to call home and both he and his team achieve their own kind of American dream.

This sounds like such a great movie. I have yet to see ANY Kevin Costner movie that I haven’t loved.

This sounds like it’s going to be such a great movie. I’ve always loved movies about underdogs.
Kevin Costner is so great. He always brings such a powerful motivation to all of his roles.

We were just talking about this movie the other day when we saw the preview. It is odd but as much as I like Kevin Costner, I am just not into his movies anymore. I can’t explain why, just one of those things. We will probably watch this when it comes to DVD though.
