Iron Man 3 Review ~
Recently my wife and I took the opportunity to go see Iron Man 3. After seeing it I would now like to offer my review of the movie so that you and your family may determine whether or not you would like to see this film.
Iron Man 3 Highlight: Tony Stark’s One Liners
Robert Downey, Jr. reprises his role as Tony Stark, the billionaire philanthropist who is obnoxious but quick-witted. Downey delivers yet another wonderful performance as well as plenty of quick-hitting one liners to keep you laughing. In other words, Tony Stark is Tony Stark as only Robert Downey, Jr. can play him. Iron Man 3 is worth seeing just for his role! {Incidentally, I have been reading online about talks about possibly replacing Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark one day. No.}
Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s love interest as well as the lady who runs Stark Industries on a day-to-day basis. She is both beautiful and strong. Heck, she would have to be to keep up with Tony Stark! Anyhow, Paltrow delivers another outstanding performance. You will see her as Pepper Potts {and you forget her as Gwyneth Paltrow} the more the movie progresses. If you loved her in the previous Iron Man films, you will love her even more in Iron Man 3.
Iron Man 3 also gives us a glimpse into Tony Stark’s past and how it comes back to haunt him. The man that will become Tony Stark’s/Iron Man’s worst enemy in this film is Aldrich Killian, portrayed by Guy Pearce. You will love to hate Pearce in his role, but you will also understand where his hatred of Tony Stark comes from as well. Pearce plays the quintessential bad guy here, and he plays it well.
Don Cheadle appears as Col. James Rhodes, a friend of Stark’s who is also now using Stark Industries technology as the Iron Patriot, a.k.a. War Machine. Cheadle is well noted in Hollywood for his convincing and powerful roles. I love and respect Don Cheadle as an actor but I felt that his character in this film was a little unnecessary. I am not saying that Cheadle did a poor acting job or anything, and it is most certainly not his fault about the character, but his Captain America-esque role just didn’t fit into the film all that well to me, even though it would become a major part of the plot, without giving too much away. This was the weakest part of Iron Man 3 as far as I was concerned. But, please, don’t blame Don Cheadle! He did a magnificent job with his character.
Ty Simpkins as Harley: Iron Man 3 Highlight
And finally we have Ben Kingsley, who portrayed the mysterious Mandarin. Again, I don’t want to give too much away, so let’s just say that Ben Kingsley’s role as the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 is…surprising. And you cannot deny Ben Kinglsey’s talent either. He delivers this role magnificently!
Overall, Iron Man 3 scores 4 out of 5 stars on my scale. It is worth paying the money to go see. It wasn’t quite as good as The Avengers, but it is still worth the money. Iron Man 3 also drops references to The Avengers throughout the movie! I loved that. I believe that you and your family will be royally entertained!
Oh, and stay until the credits are finished!

Have You Seen Iron Man 3? What Did You Think?
It’s funny because I didn’t think I would like the Iron Man movies and each time I watched one with my son and husband I really enjoyed them. I’m sure I will end up enjoying this one too!

I love comic book adaptations, but I wasn’t sure that Iron Man 3 would be my cup of tea either…but I have loved them all.
I can’t wait to see Iron Man 3. Replacing RDJ? No way. Iron Man and RDJ are the same person as far as I’m concerned.
I like Don Cheadle too but I wasn’t a fan of his character in Iron Man 2

Same here on replacing Robert Downey Jr. He is such a cool customer for that role with his snarky comments. Love him!

Not as good as Avengers?!!? How can you even compare the two? Apples and oranges
I thought it was fantastic and they did a great job of consolidating all of the comics into three movies, not compromising too much of the originally story line and keeping the feel of the comic.
Plus, Tony Stark is pretty hot.
